How Reviewer Like Me Works

We match you with game reviewers who actually share your taste — so you can trust their recommendations on games you haven't played yet.

1. Rate games you've played

Score games on a simple 1–5 star scale. The more games you rate, the better your matches get. Even a handful of ratings is enough to get started — we only need at least 2 overlapping games with a reviewer to calculate a match.

2. We compare your scores to thousands of reviewers

Every professional review on the site is normalized to the same 1–5 scale, regardless of whether the reviewer originally scored on a 10-point, 100-point, or letter-grade system. We then look at every game you and a reviewer have both scored.

3. The matching algorithm

For each reviewer, we calculate two numbers:

% Like Me

Of all the games you and the reviewer have both reviewed, what percentage did you score within half a star of each other? A reviewer you agreed with on 8 out of 10 games gets 80% like me. Higher is better.

Confidence

How much data do we have? Confidence grows as the number of overlapping games increases, reaching full confidence at 20+ shared games. A 90% like me based on 2 games is less reliable than a 75% like me based on 10.

Games Compared

The total number of games you and the reviewer have both reviewed. More games compared means more data, which makes the match percentage and confidence more meaningful.

4. Get recommendations you can trust

Once you know which reviewers think like you, their high-scoring reviews become personalized recommendations. On each reviewer's profile, we show you their top-rated games you haven't played yet. You can also follow reviewers to stay up to date when they publish new reviews.
